No permission for read-write access to database XYZ

This error usually means that Firebird server cannot open the database file. Either you (connection string only contains the file path) or the Firebird server (when the connection string has hostname: prefix) doesn't have sufficient privileges on the database file or directory containing it. So, check the privileges (file owner and permission) on the database file and fix them. Please read FAQ #102 for more details
