Backup with 3rd party tools faster than GBAK?
By default, GBAK does not use the Services API, but does backup on the local disk. This requires that all the data gets transfered over network. Tools cannot work like that, they must use Services API and backup goes on the server disk. You should not experience any performance difference if you run GBAK backup using -service switch.
