What is Vulcan?

Vulcan was a separate project (fork) programmed by Jim Starkey. It took early Firebird 2.0 alpha sources in order to bring better SMP (multi-CPU) support. To learn why better SMP support is needed, please read FAQ #208.

The intention is to merge Firebird 2 and Vulcan code back and create Firebird 3.
