Cannot backup a database with spaces in filename path?

This is a known bug in GBAK. The services API work correctly, i.e. will backup such database file. You should either use some other tool that uses services API (most GUI admininistration tools do), move databases to directory which doesn't have spaces in path or use short names like C:\Progra~1\Firebi~1\DBs\
